Energetic Flow Over Sparks: My Reiki Approach to offering Spiritually Aligned Permanent Jewelry

Permanent jewelry has become a beautiful way for many people to carry a symbol of connection, intention, or love with them every day. While many jewelers use a small welder to “zap” the chain closed, at Realm Reiki I’ve made the decision not to use welding in my permanent jewelry practice. Instead, I use safe, high-quality closure methods that honor both the physical and energetic well-being of my clients.

Here’s why.

While welding is considered safe and low-risk, there are a few groups of people who should avoid it altogether:

    •    Those with pacemakers, defibrillators, or other implanted devices

    •    People with cochlear implants or neurostimulators

    •    Anyone with certain medical conditions, open wounds, or severe metal sensitivities

Even for those without health concerns, there is always a small chance of feeling an unexpected “zap” during the welding process. Believe it or not it does happen — and my priority is always to create a comfortable, safe experience for everyone who visits my booth.

Because my work is rooted in Reiki and energy healing, I also look at this choice from a spiritual perspective. In Reiki, we focus on supporting the natural flow of energy through the body’s meridians. Welding creates a physical and energetic bond — a symbol of permanence — and for some sensitive people, that bond can feel restrictive rather than empowering.

    •    Jewelry sits directly on energy points and meridians, especially around the wrists and ankles. If the metal or the “permanence” of the bond doesn’t align with someone’s vibration, they may feel energetically unsettled.

    •    Reiki helps restore flow and balance, so it felt natural to me to offer jewelry in a way that enhances freedom rather than creating a sensation of being “locked in.”

By choosing a non-welded method, I allow clients to receive the beauty and symbolism of permanent jewelry while keeping the energetic field open, flowing, and supportive.

This isn’t about one method being “better” or “worse.” Many jewelers use welders with care and intention, and their clients love the experience. For me, though, aligning my jewelry offerings with my Reiki practice means focusing on safety, comfort, and energy flow.

My target customers are people who value not just adornment, but also spiritual connection, grounding, and inner alignment. For them, a non-welded approach often feels more in harmony with the work we’re doing together.

At Realm Reiki, I offer spiritual permanent jewelry on-site in Northern New Jersey. Whether you’d like to book a personal session, host a private gathering, or add a meaningful touch to a special event, I bring both jewelry and Reiki-infused energy to the experience.

Permanent jewelry can be a unique and memorable addition to:

    •    Birthday parties

    •    Bridal showers

    •    Girls’ nights

    •    Wellness retreats

    •    Community events

Each piece is infused with intention and created in alignment with your personal energy flow.

Permanent jewelry is more than an accessory — it’s an energetic symbol you carry with you every day. My choice not to use a welder is rooted in both practical safety and spiritual alignment. This way, every piece I share at Realm Reiki supports your energy flow, your well-being, and your journey.
